The Brooks Ghost Max 4 is the fourth generation of this women's road running shoe, here in a black and pink colourway with the manufacturer code 1204851B043. The model was made for neutral runners who want the highest level of cushioning, comfort and stability. The solutions used take an effective load off the joints and muscles, which makes these shoes an optimal choice for daily training, long runs and even for work that involves standing for hours. One shoe in size 38 weighs just under 261 grams, over 20 g less than the previous versions of this model.
The construction is built on a wide midsole filled with improved DNA Loft v3 foam. This is an EVA material enriched with nitrogen, which guarantees excellent shock absorption, exceptional lightness and confidence at every step. The carefully shaped sole profile is based on GlideRoll Rocker technology. The system makes the roll of the foot natural and smooth, from the moment the heel touches the ground right through to toe-off. The drop between heel and toes is 6 millimetres, with a total sole thickness of 40 millimetres at the back and 34 millimetres at the front.
The upper is made of breathable mesh, which keeps the air circulating properly. The interior was designed to offer more space, something women who use their own orthotic insoles will certainly appreciate. The outsole is made of a special blend of rubber and recycled silica. It has a system of flexible grooves that improve the flexibility of the whole structure and work with the natural movement of the foot on hard city surfaces.
